Addfield is the only UK manufacturer that makes 100% of its machines in house and does not rely on contracting services out.

The original Addfield Incinerator/Cremator was designed and built by Mr. Richard Sherratt from Shrewsbury in 1984. Richard ran a successful parts company for agriculture machinery but could see a need for the control of animal waste on farms.

Most of Richards’s machines were supplied to his existing clients that were hunts and farms around the UK. Richards’s values of building reliable & robust equipment enabled him to manufacture well over 250 machines over the next 23 years. By the spring of 2007, the Addfield Company was acquired by Steven Lloyd and rebranded as the now Addfield Environmental Systems Limited. A six month due diligence period followed where Steven studied the market and all of its competitors. It soon became clear to him that ALL of the Addfield competitors basically built the same machine but just painted them a different colour. The competitor’s machines were inefficient and built very cheaply meaning that they were not really fit for purpose.

Using his technical knowledge of refractories Steven tasked Addfield to set about to build the most robust, reliable and efficient machines on the market. They re-designed the incinerators lining configuration using state of the art Computational Fluid Dynamics, then incorporated the best available refractory materials on the market. The finished designs have proven to be the most thermally efficient robust machines on the market. Today the Addfield name has grown to be synonymous with quality and reliability, our machines now span every continent in the world.

From its humble beginnings of Richards Garden Shed Addfield now have almost 20,000 sq ft of manufacturing space. These facilities cover steel fabrication, painting, refractory lining, Electrical installations and Combustion system installations.
