Working with the World Health Organisation to combat COVID19

In the past, Addfield has been proud to aid countries across the world in the fight against deadly diseases. Working with global aid agencies such as UNICEF, we have been able to supply safe waste management to places such as Mauritania, where we sent 15 MP100’s in 2019 to largely reduce the spread of Measles. Now with these installations, they can put an end to discarding highly dangerous waste on open ground, further reducing the risks of spreading viral diseases.

Now a year later, we are proud to do our part once more after being awarded a contract from the World Health Organization (WHO), to help combat the continuing Coronavirus pandemic.

Yesterday we finally saw the two MP100’s and two C100’s shipping out of the factory on their final journey to Gabon in Central Africa. Despite the short lead time, we are incredibly proud of our dedicated factory team, who worked tirelessly to make WHO targets.

It’s a great achievement to see another set of our machines commissioned to support international aid projects. With the help of sustainable waste management, developing countries now have a solution to controlling disease transmission and are prepared for almost any situation that arises in the future.

Though the machines have left the factory, our support doesn’t stop there. Naturally, with travel restrictions in place, it’s difficult to get our team out there to aid with installation and commission. Thankfully, the next stage for us will be commissioning the machines remotely via our secure training platform, enabling all our customer’s access to advice and guidance from our engineers.

This is just another example of the fantastic work that International Aid Agencies have been carrying out during the past twelve months to help developing countries to combat this terrible crisis.
