The Dutch Caribbean island, Aruba, often known as “One Happy Island” is mostly know for it’s coral sands and vibrant local culture. Pet cremation is not a typical practice in Aruba, yet recently that all changed when a young entrepreneur recognised there was genuine potential for pet cremation on the island and Addfield are proud to have been able to supply the first ever pet cremator in Aruba.
Pet Crematorium Aruba, founded by Diego Maduro, is located by the coast of Balashi Free Zone VBA, Oranjestad. Diego identified a significant gap in pet funeral services on the island, there was no formal or dignified option for pet owners to say goodbye to their beloved pets.
Losing a pet is an upsetting life event that most families will have to experience at some point, and there was no service offered to the residents of Aruba at the time that was meaningful and celebrated their pet lives. Diego wanted to offer this service as he understood the importance of having a gentle way of saying goodbye to pets.
Our agent working alongside the project reflected on Diego’s commitment to the cause, “Diego is a young entrepreneur who is truly focused on supporting this industry, with the idea of giving families the gentlest way of saying a final goodbye to their beloved pets.”
Containerised PET200 was the right choice
Diego reached out to Addfield and liaised with Addfield’s LATAM and LATAC Sales expert, Eduardo Sierra Torres, to explore Addfield’s world renowned pet cremator range, and see about installing the very first pet cremator in Aruba. Working closely together, Addfield guided Diego through the process of selecting the right machine for his business, navigating the logistics of importing and ensuring the installation was completed efficiently and to the highest Addfield standard.
The PET200 was chosen for the job, using diesel as its preferred fuel source and fully installed in a 20ft container which was ready to operate from day one. Having the machine installed in a container was a practical and efficient choice for the location, providing a self contained facility right on the coastline.
“The PET200 is an incredible machine, easy to install and operate. We are very pleased that we got into contact with Addfield to learn how to bring this machine to Aruba.” – Diego Maduro spoke out about how effortless the installation of the PET200 in the container was.
A complete and compassionate service
Pet Crematorium Aruba offers both individual and communal cremation options, giving families the freedom to choose what feels right for them. Individual cremations ensures each pet is cremated separately with the ashes returned to the owner in a remembrance urn. Communal cremation provides a respectful yet more accessible alternative for those who do not wish to have ashes returned.
Pet Crematorium Aruba puts families first
Beyond the cremation itself, Pet Crematorium Aruba has built a fully rounded service that supports families through every step of the process. The journey from first contact to the ashes being returned back to the family is handled with care and professionalism, covering the choice of cremation, selection of urn or memorial jewellery, pet collection and the cremation process itself.
They also offer a curated range of memorial keepsakes allowing families to find a lasting and personal way to remember their pet as they would any other family member. It is this level of thoughtfulness that sets Pet Crematorium Aruba apart from the very beginning.
Supporting a new standard for pet cremation worldwide
The Addfield pet cremator range has been trusted by professional crematoriums across the globe for decades. Built with being robust, reliable and efficient in mind, our machines are designed to support businesses that share our commitment to treating every pet with dignity and respect.
Projects like this one in Aruba represent something that means a great deal to us here at Addfield. When a country welcomes its very first pet crematorium, it is a genuine shift in the care that is available to families and we look forward to support Diego in the future as they continue to grow.
Diego has ambitious plans for the future to look into horse and farm animal cremation and is planning to reach out to Addfield when that time comes.
